WE NOW PLANT TREES FOR OUR CUSTOMERS!

Over the years, we’ve gained a reputation for our wide range of trees for all types of gardens, whether it be a 4 foot young tree, or a 14 foot specimen for those of you who love something more ‘instant’.

And over the years, we’ve been asked reguarly, ‘can you recommend somebody to plant them for me?’

To which the answer has always been no….until now!

In 2023 we launched our own Tree Planting Service, which has already proved to be extremely popular.

You just choose the tree, or trees, and we’ll do everything else! No massive holes to dig, no worrying about how deep to plant it….it’s taken care of by Ian Colledge, the Plant Man himself.

We care about our trees, but we also care about your garden! So we may at times try and put you off planting certain types of tree if we feel they aren’t the right choice. Or, if we feel you may be putting too many trees in a limited space, forgive us if we try and encourage you to buy less!

The decision is of course yours, but please do ask the retail team here, and we’ll do our very best to give you the right information. Gary, Glenn and Archie will normally be on hand to offer advice on the shop floor.

Now there is a charge for this of course, and it starts from just £30 per tree to include stake, tie, compost, fertiliser and of course the labour needed do it. We’ll do a great job and leave the tree in your capable hands. Ian will talk you through the aftercare needed once the tree is planted, to ensure you’re completely clear on how to look after it.

Larger trees (those over £175 in price) are chargeable at £50 per tree, and a handful of trees in enormous pots are £100 per tree.

This service is only available for our local delivery area (within 25 miles of the nursery). We may be able to move slightly further afield in quieter periods, please email service@theplantman.net if you’d like to enquire.

There are some terms and conditions for all our planting jobs, which we’ll be happy to email to you if you’d like a copy, again please email.

Basically, the ground should be free of vegetation, other trees, tree roots etc., there can be no concrete/hardcore to work through, and the tree can only go in if we can dig a hole big enough for it.

  • Tree planting service does not include delivery charge if applicable.
